Fall 2016 – General Robert Van Antwerp speaks about that and leadership excellence through character

On the anniversary, General Van Antwerp discusses his experiences in the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, and then launches into a discussion of Leadership, and how it can be used to develop excellence in character and growth. He contrasts what he calls ‘fixed’ mindsets with 5 innovative things he believes the best leaders do in bringing out the best in those they head: Creation of a guiding vision, a vivid picture of where the organization wants to be; an ability to influence people to go where they perhaps would not have gone before; a devotion to service, not only of clients but employees or those under your leadership; commitment to developing the people you work with and; holding self and those you work with to high standards on a consistent and daily basis.
