Profile

Dr. Amanda Click is the Director of Influencer Development at the United States Naval Academy’s Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership. She is an accomplished social scientist and leader with more than 15 years of experience in higher education. Amanda holds a B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a PhD in information science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has been at USNA since 2020, initially as the Head of Research and Instruction in Nimitz Library. Prior to arriving in Annapolis, she held positions at the American University in Cairo and American University in Washington, DC. Amanda has extensive research experience, which allows her to bridge the gap between leadership theory and real-world application. She draws upon her experience leading in a variety of contexts, from small project teams to international professional organizations.

Amanda is deeply committed to “Leadership the USNA Way.” Guided by the belief that everyone in the USNA community is responsible for developing the next generation of naval officers as ethical leaders, Amanda is dedicated to supporting the “influencers” on the Yard: the faculty, staff and coaches who lead, teach, coach, and mentor the Brigade of Midshipmen every day. She leverages her core strengths in communication and relationship-building to foster a culture of ethical leadership across the Yard.

Amanda lives in Annapolis, MD, with her husband, two sons, four chickens, and a giant Maine Coon cat.
