This article discusses the role of moral awareness leadership in moderating the mental health impact of combat experiences on soldiers. Using the Leadership in Moral Awareness Scale (LIMAS), researchers found that soldiers with high combat exposure reported fewer symptoms of depression and anxiety when their leaders were rated high on moral awareness. The findings suggest that military leaders focusing on ethical behavior and moral dilemmas can help mitigate negative mental health outcomes, making moral awareness leadership a valuable tool for supporting soldier well-being.
